Isikhathi sok’hlaba

We were tasked to create a vaccination campaign for Nando's to position the brand as pro-vaccination. Myself, and Lauratus Tefu acted as co-writers to come up with the line and concept "Isikhathi sok’hlaba".

Insight:

Rituals are an important part of our daily lives as Africans. We perform rituals that require us to make sacrifices to honour our ancestors, AKA ukuhlaba. Uk’hlaba also doubles up as a Nguni word for injection. The ritual itself is referred to as umsebenzi (Job/work that needs to be done).

Idea: (The ritual)

We want to normalise the vaccine as some type of a ritual that shouldn’t be shunned upon. By showing Mzansi that in order for things to go well for us, we need to perform this ritual – “Put in the work to get the results we want together.

The Consultation

Sbu visits a spiritual doctor for a consultation. He is looking for a solution to get his life back on track. He wants to feel free and himself again.

Maryam's House

Abdool and Maryam have been together for years. They may know each other like the back of their hands, but sometimes there's still room for a little surprise, especially when it comes to their parenting styles.
